Rare Spanish-Language Exhibition Catalogue | Galería Hilario Galguera, Mexico City, 2006
La Muerte de Dios (The Death of God) is a rare and visually striking exhibition catalogue published for Damien Hirst’s inaugural Mexican exhibition at Galería Hilario Galguera in 2006. Spanning 169 pages, this edition showcases 69 full-color reproductions of Hirst's works featured in the show, along with an insightful interview with gallery owner Hilario Galguera discussing Hirst's exploration of religion as a recurring theme in his art. Additionally, the catalogue includes Hirst's earlier poems, The Cancer Chronicles, accompanied by light micrographs of nineteen different types of cancer cells. Designed with a three-color foil-blocked cover and printed with real metallic gold throughout, it also contains a foldout detail of the work "In the Name of the Father." All text appears in both English and Spanish, making it accessible to a broader audience.
